The MX Brio suits low-light, high-detail video calls and creation; the C922 PRO HD covers 1080p streaming and everyday meetings for less. Here is how to choose.
Quick answer
Choose the MX Brio if you want sharper detail for video calls and content creation and need better low-light performance. Choose the C922 PRO HD if you stream at 1080p or 720p/60 and want a lower-cost, reliable webcam for everyday meetings.
Resolution and frame rate: what the specs mean for your setup
The C922 PRO HD records Full HD 1080p at 30 fps or 720p at 60 fps. That makes it a practical fit for streaming games or presentations where smooth motion matters, and for standard video calls. The MX Brio is positioned for high-performance video and content creation, but its catalog listing does not state a maximum resolution or frame rate. If 4K capture is a hard requirement, confirm the exact spec before buying rather than assuming it from the model name.
Low light and focus: where the MX Brio earns its price
The C922 PRO HD includes autofocus and light correction, which help when your room lighting shifts during a call. The MX Brio is engineered for superior image clarity, but the supplied facts do not detail its low-light correction or autofocus behavior. If you often present from a dim home office, the MX Brio is the stronger candidate on positioning, yet you should verify the specific low-light features if that is your deciding factor.
Privacy and audio: small features that shape daily use
The C922 PRO HD has dual omnidirectional microphones for natural sound, so you can skip a separate mic for casual meetings. Its listing also mentions a flexible mount, but does not confirm a privacy shutter. The MX Brio's catalog entry does not list a privacy shutter or microphone specification either. Treat privacy shutters as a check-before-you-buy item on both models, and plan on a separate microphone only if your calls demand higher audio quality than the C922 PRO HD's built-in mics provide.
Trade-offs to weigh before you buy
- Price vs image ceiling: The MX Brio costs more than the C922 PRO HD, and its listing does not state a resolution or frame rate. If you need confirmed 1080p/30 or 720p/60, the C922 PRO HD gives you those numbers outright. Set your must-have resolution first, then compare price.
- Low-light confidence vs documented features: The C922 PRO HD explicitly lists autofocus and light correction. The MX Brio is positioned for clarity but does not list those specifics, so ask for confirmation if dim lighting is your main concern. Test or verify low-light behavior before committing to either model.
- Audio convenience vs separate gear: The C922 PRO HD includes dual omnidirectional microphones, which can handle everyday calls without extra equipment. The MX Brio's audio spec is not listed, so budget for a separate mic if clear voice capture is critical. Decide whether built-in audio is enough for your meetings.
